Prom Purses & Handbags
An essential accessory for your prom is a purse or handbag.
You might feel that it will be annoying to carry this around, but if the correct style and size are chosen, you won't even notice it's there.
A small purse or bag that is large enough to hold the essentials - lip gloss, powder, mints, safety pins - is all you should need. You don't want to be lugging around a big tote bag or your everyday handbag.
A vintage-inspired beaded bag, or cute clutch is very in style this season. Asian-inspired prints also continue to be a major trend this season. Most importantly, you want to make sure you purse suits your overall look. |

Tips
- For a vintage look, ask your older family members if they still have any of their old bags.
- If you are wearing a modern style dress, don't bring a vintage bag.
- For a more formal look, try bags made of satin, silk, mesh or beads.
- Remember, your purse does not have to exactly match your dress. Instead try to pick a complimenting colour, eg: if your dress is black, perhaps try a silver or metallic bag.
- Avoid shoulder bags for this special night. Instead try to find a bag that is easy to hold, or slip on your wrist.
A small tote big enough to carry touch up make-up is essential.
Remember, that your makeup is usually done earlier in the evening, meaning you will need touch ups as the night progresses.
